Convenience Center limits items Oct. 24 for e-waste event

The City of Taunton and Department of Public Works announced Oct. 21 that the City Convenience Center will host a free e-waste collection event on Saturday, Oct. 24.

On that day, the center will accept only electronic waste, appliances and paper for shredding. All other waste materials normally accepted at the Convenience Center will not be taken that day.

Regular Convenience Center services will resume the following week during the usual hours: Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The city asked residents to help spread the word to avoid confusion or unnecessary trips. Questions can be directed to the Department of Public Works at 508-821-1431.
