The Taunton City Council voted unanimously Oct. 20 to ban data centers in the city and to set a one-year moratorium on new ones, denying a developer's request for an exemption for an existing building.
The Taunton Water Department will shut down a water main on Whittenton Street on Oct. 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., affecting about 20 homes between 242 and 254 Whittenton Street.
Taunton is accepting applications for its Elderly & Disabled Tax Relief Fund, which helps qualifying low-income seniors and residents with disabilities pay real estate taxes, with a Dec. 15 deadline.
