Taunton Youth Basketball opens registration for its 2026-27 season, with tryouts set for early and mid-October.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Taunton Youth Basketball (TYB) registration for the 2026-2027 MetroWest League season is open and continues through Friday, Oct. 2, according to the organization's website. All players must be registered before tryouts, with no exceptions.

Tryouts are scheduled at Taunton High School. Girls will try out Tuesday, Oct. 6, and Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Boys in grades 4-6 will try out Wednesday, Oct. 7, and Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Boys in grades 7-8 will try out the same two Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

The MetroWest League fields boys' and girls' teams for grades 4-8. The season includes a 12-game regular schedule, six home games and six away, followed by playoffs at a neutral site. The season begins in December and may run through mid-March, depending on a team's playoff run.

The league fee is $350, plus a $100 uniform fee for players who need a new uniform; players who don't need one pay $350 total, since the uniform design is unchanged from last season. Registration requires a $175 payment up front, with the remaining balance due before a team's first game. TYB says registration payments will be refunded to any player who does not make a team.
